January Happenings

Image
JANUARY 2010: I got to see my BFF Jamie right after getting back from Germany while she was in town with her family for the holidays. Tay got to play with cousins!!! We got to hang out more with Ian & Bonnie! This included manicures & pedicures for the girls! I also darkened my hair. Taylor also spent lots of time doing two of his favorite things, playing basketball and reading:

Christmas in Germany

I am definitely going to put up a post with more details of our Europe travels, but here are some fun Christmas Celebrations we had while visiting Ian & Bonnie in Henschtal this December. We visited lots of Christmas Markets during our stay, but this was our first one the day after we arrived. It is in Trier. We had delicious Bratwurst and Potatoes & Mushrooms. We also toured the Roman Church you can see behind us that was such a neat backdrop for the Christmas Market. This is another Christmas Market we visited while in Luasanne, Switzerland while visiting David's cousin Kirsten and her family. (Pictures with them coming soon!) Taylor loving his Santa Claus Teddy Bear that a lady gave to him (and a matching one to cousin Trevyn) in the Christmas Market. Taylor learned how to say 'Ho Ho Ho' this Christmas - it is hilarious...it comes out very forced and from deep down, kind of like, "ooh ooh ooh" haha! This is what Ian & Bonnie's backyard looked li...

WE HAVE NO IDEA!!! I had 3 ultrasounds throughout the day yesterday - the nice ultrasound tech kept having me leave for an hour or two and eat and then let me come back again to try to tell the gender and we could never tell. The baby is sitting really really low plus it had it's legs closed completely. So they said that we could come back during our appointment in a month to try again. Waiting another month seems like torture! At least it is not our first baby or I would probably die! Anyway, the baby had an adorable little face and is healthy besides a minor irregular heartbeat that they claim will usually clear up by the 3rd trimester - it makes me a little nervous, but since they seemed not too concerned about it then I guess I shouldn't stress too much about it either. The heart anatomy was all correct and beating properly, so that is a good sign. Anyways, I promise I will post Germany & Christmas pictures soon and I will post the gender around February 1st. Here is a...

Zoolights

Image
We went to Zoolights at the Hogle Zoo with our friends, The Stoddards, this Monday evening. Taylor loved it and kept talking and pointing at everything the whole time. He was a little bit nervous about the carousel :) It was fun, but really pretty cold with an icy wind, so this is how Tay spent much of the time: Well, we are off to Germany in a couple of hours to visit Ian & Bonnie for 3 weeks! (The plane tickets are our Christmas present from my parents-Thank you!) Taylor enjoyed helping me pack last night. Have a wonderful Christmas everyone!!!

HaPpY HaLLoWeEn!

After searching through costumes online I decided that it would be silly of me to buy one when I am perfectly capable of sewing one...although it definitely cost more to buy the supplies than it would have to buy a $20-$25 costume from Walmart or Target. So when I randomly got a weekend off from typing dictations I jumped at the chance to get it done. He is supposed to be a Dalmation, but David says I made the ears too big and he looks like a speckled mouse. Oh well, either way I think it is cute :) *** Halloween was fun this year because Taylor could tell something was going on. He was a little shy when Trick-or-Treating, but loved sorting through and playing with his candy afterwards. He only ate a little :) When Taylor Trick-Or-Treated to Grandma Cindy, he had a little surprise. The big bucket is for him, and the little one is for his sibling who is coming in May 2010! Yep...we have a 2nd baby on the way. I am just over 12 weeks pregnant and feeling even sicker than last time. T...

Marie's Wedding

Image
Marie Dayton Purcell and Tiafau Purcell Because I missed reading posts about what is going on with our family, and since Heather is busy, I (David) have decided to post. I don't know if I will enjoy reading my own post as much as I like reading Heather's, but chances are I will (although I may be less surprised by what is written). Aren't weddings great? I really like going to weddings, especially when they are close family members getting married. One of the things that I enjoy most about weddings (besides the luncheon, getting to see family we haven't seen in a while, the reception (with food), getting rid of another sister, gaining another brother-in-law) is being able to think about my own wedding/marriage. It is incredible that it has been almost 4 1/2 years since we got married (and even more amazing that Heather is still married to me). A lot of people talk about how grateful they are for their wives or how supportive their wife is. I don't think that anyone...

The Pack Trip

I'm a little late posting this because I thought David was going to, but here are some pictures from his pack trip in Wyoming a couple of weeks ago:
