THE DAYTON FAMILY

Tay had his first bit of rice cereal tonight and he seemed to love it. I just mixed it with warm millk so it would taste familiar to him, and he devoured it! :) He kept pounding his little fist while I was feeding him...so cute! Tay also had his first time being sick this last week and it was so sad because he was really congested. He couldn't nurse very well because he couldn't breath - so that was really frustrating for him, and he couldn't breath when laying down, so I spent several nights holding him in the chair and I was sick too, it was exhausting! We're both much better now that we're getting over it, and I think that I'm going to be much more paranoid about having him out in public...and having people use hand sanitizer... :) Tay has some adorable outfits that fit him right now, including his letterman's jacket and his awesome Christmas outfit that his daddy picked out, and some sweet shoes from Old Navy that I got. :) Taylor loves sitting on hi...

Wow - our baby is 5 months old already! He is such a joy. He is so happy and cuddly, we just love him to pieces! He gets bored if he's not constantly being entertained - so we get pretty worn out by him, but we definitely have lots of fun together. Taylor loves his Daddy - David really gets him laughing! Tay's reflection in the piano while he was "playing" (taken by his Aunt Marie) So...things that we've done recently: babysat my cousins for 3 days, completely re-did my mother-in-laws bedroom as a surprise for her, went through the temple with my brother (who leaves on a mission in 2 weeks), enjoyed a lovely Thanksgiving feast at David's Uncle Lynn & Aunt Margaret's house, and went for a wagon ride through the lights at Thanksgiving Point. My mother-in-law's room was a huge project! David spent forever planning for it. We had a professional come in and build shelves that we custom designed. Oh my goodness...our TINY little baby is growing up way too quickly for me! He's not even that tiny anymore - he's in the 92nd percentile and weighs in at almost 18lbs (and he's not even 5 months old yet!) Anyway, David and I always like to rub his bottom gum and make it squeak, and today when I was rubbing it I felt a tiny little rough bump - it is his first tooth already! It's exciting and sad all at the same time. It sure is fun to be a mom and to watch my baby grow though, I just hope that he doesn't learn how to bite anytime soon...youch! We had another first last week when it snowed, we went and played outside and even went sledding. I thought it was pretty fun, but Tay kept a straight face the whole time, no laughing, but no crying either. He is learning so quickly, I can even tell a difference day to day in his ability to grab onto things, he's getting much better and reaching straight for an object, clamping on to it with his little fingers, and shovin...

This past weekend we went up to Logan to visit our friends Adam and Jeanne Shelton and to watch the BYU vs. USU football game. (Tay's first BYU football game!!!) We drove up with our other friends Kevin and Giovanna. We got to see the USU ballroom team that the Sheltons coach, then went to the game, and then ate pizza and played games at their apartment. On Saturday morning, Jeanne made us crepes and we watched the first session of conference and then went out to lunch between sessions. It was a nice mini-vacation and was fun to spend time with our friends. Tay and I also did several other hikes up in Big Cottonwood Canyon with my mom (& one with my sisters) recently, here are a few pictures:
