Happy Day!!!

Image
These past few days have been really stressful for us. David got an e-mail that we thought was going to have his September LSAT score in it on Friday of last week. After a prayer, we nervously opened the e-mail to find out that there was some kind of issue with his account, so we would have to check the website for the score. We don't have the internet at our apartment (just e-mail on my phone), so we drove to David's work to get on-line. We went through the whole nervous process again as we logged on, only to be informed that there was a hold on his record and he would not be able to get his score until it was resolved. Apparently, he had applied to have his fee waived and it had been denied - so even though he ALREADY paid for it - we couldn't get the score until we could call them during regular business hours (Monday morning) and get it cleared up. So - the whole weekend was stressful with anticipation (especially because a bunch of guys in our ward had taken it and the...

Random Weekend in Vegas

Image
So last Friday David called me at work around 12:30 in the afternoon and said that he wanted to go to the BYU vs. UNLV game in Las Vegas. He wanted to leave after work and said that he'd arrange everything. I had to work until 6pm, so I said okay and hoped he could figure it all out by then. Sure enough, when he picked me up from work he had reserved a hotel, bought tickets, and called our friends, Adam & Jeanne Shelton, to come with us. We got to our hotel around 11pm Vegas time (after driving to the wrong hotel first because David thought he was reserving one that we stayed in before...apparently he got the names mixed up!) We checked in and soon I began to notice strange things in our room. The first was that the ice bucket was in the shower, then I noticed that there were towels hung in the closet on hangers, and when I saw that the soap was already opened David finally got annoyed and called the front desk - apparently our room had not been fully cleaned, so they said they...

Fall Happenings

Image
Even though our lives are pretty uneventful right now, I figured I better post something new. So I officially welcomed in fall earlier this week by putting up my favorite wreath. I made it last year and David doesn't like it at all for some reason. Last night I told him that I was so excited for Halloween to come because as soon as it is over I get to listen to Christmas music!!! He said that I am NOT allowed to listen to any until after Thanksgiving - like that's going to happen. :-) So recently I decided that my beta, Swimmy (I know-really creative name...), needed a wife. He was purchased for a lesson I taught to a preschool class in June and has been looking pretty depressed for a while. So my sister, Bonnie, and I went to Petco to pick out his mate. We found a bright red female beta that looked pretty healthy. We had to put a barrier between the two of them so that they didn't kill each other, but they seem to really enjoy staring at each other through the glass and Sw...

Football Season

David is graduating from BYU in December with his BA in Russian, and I just graduated this summer and am working at the Student Health Center as a receptionist. David is doing an internship with Caldera Engineering and is all finished with his classes. So right now we are both just working, applying to law schools for David for next year, and watching BYU FOOTBALL!!! We love to go to the games and have awesome seats this year - row 7 and on the 50 yard line. Go Cougs!
