Far From the Home I Love

Image
David graduates in less than 3 weeks and we are headed to Colorado Springs. He will take the Bar Exam in Denver near the end of July - STRESSFUL!!! Well, actually, getting through the home stretch of his last semester of law school is the only stress he can handle stomaching right now, but as soon as that is over he will have to bear the weight of the impending Bar Exam. (And he still manages to whip up experiments in the kitchen and help me fold the laundry... A-mazing !) Anyway, enough about my awesome husband...he'll make me delete this if I write too much... :) *** Anyway, although we are very sad about leaving our families, our cute little condo, and our student life (seriously), we are SO excited about this beautiful place: The skies in Colorado Springs are always breathtaking. The parks are beautiful and impeccably groomed: AND we are blessed to be able to be with this dear family, my uncle Dale and his boys: Most important of all, I'll be with David, and 'there wit...

The Ball

Image
Last Thursday night was the annual Barrister's Ball for the law school. David is a member of the SBA ( Student Bar Association ), so he helped out quite a bit with it. This included his idea to show the BYU basketball game projected on the wall while people were eating so that the law student's would actually show up... :) It was fun to get dressed up and have a nice meal together. I am definitely going to miss these types of law school functions as well as getting together with the many friends we have made during the last 3 years. Here are a couple of pictures taken of the two of us that night: Don't I have a handsome husband??? :)

Kyla-roo

Image
Kyla is getting quite the personality. She is very social and likes to be a part of things. She giggles and smiles all of the time. She is almost always super pleasant and happy. Unless - of course - you attempt to remove something from her iron-grip or don't give her a bite of whatever you are eating. If so, she can get VERY loud VERY fast. It's quite hilarious. With us as the parents I don't think that any of our children have a chance of not being overly dramatic. Oh well. :) She sure is a cutie and we love her 'big much' as Tay would put it. She just started loving this doorway bouncer - she really gets going in it! Taylor likes to help her out. She is also SUPER small - at 10 months she is 17lbs 3oz (less than 1%) and 25.5 inches (8%)! At least she is proportional! She loves to say 'Hi' and 'Hi Tay' or 'Hi Tay Tay' or 'Hi Dada'. She can say 'mama' alone but no 'Hi' for me yet :)

Bedtime

Image
I realized that we have a lot of fun pictures of bedtime from the past week. I'd say that's our favorite time of day despite it being quite chaotic at moments. Taylor always gets really silly and makes Kyla giggle infectiously. David is often home then so they get to spend some time playing with him & that's fun for all of us. Taylor loves baths but is still a little bit water-shy. Kyla is a little fish and has no fear when it comes to water. She does NOT like having to get out before Taylor and won't stay wrapped up in her towel for the 30 seconds it takes me to get him rinsed off and out after her. She pops right back up the moment I let go of her, it's hilarious! *** These two LOVE their toothbrushes - they both like to brush their teeth themselves and are great to let me finish off after their turn. I go through 'A-E-I-O-U' slowly to get them to open their mouths different ways so I can clean all the teeth and even Kyla says most of the vowels corre...

This Week

Image
I can't believe how fast life is flying by! Last weekend we ran the Rex Lee Run. I ran with the kids, Bonnie & Asher, and my dad. David ran/walked with a friend. We got to wear super cool neon yellow headbands since Rex E. Lee was the first Dean of BYU's law school. This week Taylor got a haircut. He looks very handsome, but I do miss his curls. We had a nice & green St. Patrick's Day. David & the kids went to a green dinner with some friends while I was at a Relief Society Dinner. Bonnie, Kyla, and I all helped Mary get ready for her Prom. We also had some fun cousin/Uncle Dan time.

Vegas & a Wedding

Image
We went to Vegas last weekend for Jessie's dance competition. We met up with David's friend, Leland, and his family and had breakfast at the Paris buffet - amazing! I also met up with my friend & roommate from college, Tashina. On Saturday we drove back to St. George for David's cousin's wedding (Heidi). Now Taylor keeps saying, "Let's go to a temple & git' married!" - so cute! It was so wonderful to attend the sealing and great fun to spend time with family. All of David's siblings were able to be there. Sadly we were missing Kevin the whole time and Chris & Christopher for part of the time - Christopher dropped a weight on his toe and had to go to an Instacare to get a laceration stitched up and his toenail sewed back on - poor guy! The cousins had some fun together in the hotel room. We also enjoyed the warmer weather and even a little pool time!

Run, Run...

Image
Run, Run, as fast as you can! You can't catch me, I'm the Gingerbread Man! I LOVE making our favorite bedtime stories come to life for this handsome little boy! P.S. He is a puzzle-whiz! He does these 36 piece puzzles with no help at all. P.P.S. Love her!...
