Taylor-isms

Image
Taylor is in such a cute stage and is saying lots of adorable and hilarious things as of late: *The other day as we were walking into church he tripped and fell in the grass outside the front door. As we stopped to help him up and see if he was okay he looked up at us and said, "Oh! Tackle!" This little boy loves football. :) *We live right near to BYU campus and whenever we hear the marching band or the sounds of the stadium, Taylor calls out, "Go Tougars!" He also likes to sing the fight song and do the 'rah rah rah's at the end. *His newest favorite show is Sesame Street. He loves to ask, "Who dat?" (actually he asks that about EVERYTHING) and his favorite characters are 'Elmbo' and 'Tookie Monster'. Every time he talks about Cookie Monster he has to pretend like he is gobbling up cookies - it is super cute. *While riding in the car with Grandma Cindy ('Mama Cin-dee'), she said to him, "Taylor, you are such a good b...

My Champ

David was on another Intramural-Championship-Winning team at BYU (and for those of you who've watched or played Intramurals at BYU, you know this is a BIG deal!) He played on a volleyball team with some other BYU Law Students and last night they won the championship game! It was pretty intense and fun to watch. The most exciting part is getting the Intramural Championship T-shirt.

A Tooth!

Image
Kyla's first tooth (bottom left) finally broke through yesterday, at exactly 5 months old. Taylor's first tooth came in at exactly 4 months. My babies get their teeth too fast!!! She hasn't been fussy, but definitely VERY drooly for a while. Anyway, here are a few recent pictures of our cuties: This little girl ADORES her brother. We went to the Homecoming Parade on Saturday and saw Uncle Tia & Aunt Marie and Aunt Jessie in it: We cheered for David's soon-to-be Alma Mater: Kyla fell asleep half-way through even with all of the noise: AND, I bumped into my friend Jessica who I haven't seen in 2 1/2 years!!! BYU actually won the game too, so that was a definite plus for us. It's been a pretty disappointing season for our last year here.

Better Late Than Never!

I know, I know! I am WAY behind in blogging. Life has been crazy (even more so than normal) the last month and a half and I completely slacked on updating our blog. I'll have to do some posts soon that are back-dated because we did quite a few fun 'summer-y' things in the 2 weeks after David came home and before his 3rd year of Law School began. The biggest news as of late is that we moved from South Jordan back down to our beloved condo in Provo. We lived here for 3 years before and we definitely feel like we have come back home. :) It's the worst when you're right in the middle of moving and everything is in disarray and it feels like you'll never be settled: I think Tay's face says it all: But now we are happily settled back in Provo: Cheering on the BYU cougars as always: I am busy being a mommy of 2: Plus working quite a bit too: David is ridiculously busy with law school this year: But is definitely enjoying his last year as well:

Blessing Day

Image
Kyla Marie was blessed this past Sunday, August 1st. We had a 'Double Dayton' blessing with David's cousin's baby, Heber. (Sadly, I didn't get a picture of the 2 babies together on their blessing day.) The blessing went beautifully and Kyla didn't cry a bit! We are SO excited to have David back 3 weeks earlier than we originally planned!

David's Weekend Excursion

Image
David has been working at a law firm in Almaty, Kazakhstan for the past couple of months. This past weekend, he was able to get a visa to travel to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. He visited a couple of our friends whom we hosted about 3 years ago when they visited Utah for a conference and then was able to visit our brother-in-law, Kevin, who is currently deployed in Bishkek. David had an awesome trip and was quite excited to get to spend time with Kevin. They had lots of fun together. David was especially excited because Kevin arranged for them to play basketball while on base. I think he also very much enjoyed sleeping on a regular mattress and eating good old American food. :) He said it was nice to experience a little slice of America while being so far away from home.

Tay is 2!

Taylor turned 2 last week!!! I can't believe that we have a 2 year old! I still feel like I just barely finished high school - except that I graduated from college more than 3 years ago - weird. Anyway, I don't know how he got so old so fast but he is still my sweet little baby boy. :) I threw him a pizza party with our immediate family - both the Daytons and the Petersons. It turned out really well. My favorite parts of his birthday were: Seeing him wake up to a living room of balloons 'boons', watching him open presents, and also showing him his cool ball cake. We are so lucky to have this sweet little boy in our family!!!
