David's Weekend Excursion

David has been working at a law firm in Almaty, Kazakhstan for the past couple of months. This past weekend, he was able to get a visa to travel to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. He visited a couple of our friends whom we hosted about 3 years ago when they visited Utah for a conference and then was able to visit our brother-in-law, Kevin, who is currently deployed in Bishkek.
David had an awesome trip and was quite excited to get to spend time with Kevin.
They had lots of fun together.David was especially excited because Kevin arranged for them to play basketball while on base.I think he also very much enjoyed sleeping on a regular mattress and eating good old American food. :) He said it was nice to experience a little slice of America while being so far away from home.

Wait---David was excited to play basketball? :)

That's so neat that they got to get together when both so far away from their families!

So glad everything fell together and worked out for his trip to happen. I'm just sorry he had a rough time making it back to Almaty!

Oh my goodness this just made my day! I'm so glad they were able to see each other. (They just look so happy in the pictures) However I'm a little distraught I wasn't invited, I mean come on...I'm over here too! What is this some boys only thing?

Ha Becky, I'm just picturing you traveling alone to Kyrgyzstan! That is awesome they got to see each other. Hurray for family in faraway places! It will be fun to actually see everyone again, whenever that may be.
