Less Than A Week!

Image
I am getting induced on Wednesday, May 12th , unless I come before then on my own. Scary! I can't believe that we will get to see our little baby girl so soon. Taylor has been going through all of her tiny baby clothes and cuddling them and saying, "Oooh...baby's." It is very cute. *** I hope that he loves her so much. He really doesn't understand what is happening. I am excited to see him be a big brother - I think he will be very sweet with her. I am definitely enjoying my last little bit with just one child and without having to take care of a newborn all through the night! But I am so excited for her to come at the same time! Tay loves when Daddy plays 'Horse.' Anytime David is lying on his stomach, Taylor will go climb on his back and say, "Horse" over & over until David gets up and takes him for a ride. :) Getting in some quality sport-watching time with Daddy before he leaves: For one of my birthday presents, my parents gave us a gift...

April Updates

Taylor loves his "Da-dees" (Daddy) ! ...and his "Ba-Pa" (Grandpa) ! I got to hang out with my best friends, Jamie & Tashina, when Jamie visited from Seattle. Taylor & I have had fun with the warm weather (which randomy disappeared the last few days) , and have gone to the park lots & had a few picnics. Taylor LOVES helping me in the kitchen. He likes throwing the chopped up veggies into salads, mixing things up, and his favorite is helping me scoop flour or sugar into whatever I am baking and then turning on the Bosch Mixer and watching it go around. He even attempted cracking an egg this week...luckily it didn't make too much of a mess! He also loves to unload and load the dishwasher. What a helpful boy I have!!! *** Also - I turned 25 this week...I am OLD! Thanks for all of the wonderful Birthday presents, cards, wishes, etc..!

Reading

Image
One of the things that I enjoy most in life is reading. Since becoming a mom that has become much harder for me than I thought. Especially because I spend most of my son's naps/early (& sometimes late) nightime sleeping working on medical transcription. My little sister Mary is always in the midst of several books and recommends plenty of them to me but I usually don't get around to reading them. However, about a week ago she brought me 'Hunger Games' and told me I had to read it and that it wasn't due at the library for a while. So, I decided to read it and did so in a couple of days. Today I finished the 2nd book in the series, 'Catching Fire' and I LOVED them both. I can't wait until the 3rd one comes out in August. The 2nd one left so many things hanging that I feel so unsettled/excited/nervous about what is going to happen - I love it when good book does that to me! So, if anyone is looking for something that is an easy but excellent read - yo...

April Fools?

Image
I woke up yesterday morning to snow and thought that it couldn't possibly be snowing in April, so surely it would be gone by today. Well, true to the weather report, it snowed all through the night and I woke up to this view of our backyard this lovely April morning. I think nature is playing an April Fool's joke on us. :) This was the most disturbing part for Taylor - the ball that we played with outside a few days ago all covered in snow. On another note - poor Taylor has been sick so many times this winter. He will just barely get over one thing when he catches something else. I think the last couple of weeks have been some of the worst of it. He started out with a terrible cough, congestion, fever, and sure enough another ear infection (3rd & worst one in 2.5 months.) Luckily - his Grandpa is an Otolaryngologist with a specialty in inner ear surgery...so he gets the best care when it comes to his ears. :) He is so good every time he gets his ears examined - my Dad clean...

Dancesport & Other Recent Adventures

Taylor's newest thing is to add an 's' to the end of some of his words - our favorite is what he calls David: "Daddy's." It is pretty cute :) He is almost 21 months old: Taylor loved watching the National ballroom competition held at the BYU about a week and a half ago. We watched Aunt Jessie, and Uncle Tia & Aunt Marie compete over a 3 day period. It is so fun to go watch, but also sad to not be competing anymore. Taylor didn't want to leave even though it was getting past his bedtime. He stopped at the top of the stairs to get one last look at the Amateur Latin competition. One of the days of the competition Taylor & I rode to Provo with The Waldrons. David had already taken our car with Tay's carseat still in it, so he got to sit in his old one next to cousin Christopher. The boys don't look too excited in this picture, but they played with each others' hands and passed a couple of toys back and forth the whole time. :) Lately, mos...

Summer 2010

Image
David is officially heading to Kazakhstan this summer. He will be interning for the same international law firm he interned for last summer in Ukraine - Baker & McKenzie. He will be living in Алматы (Almaty), the largest city in Kazakhstan, although it is not the capital. He has his flight booked as of this past weekend. He leaves May 24th and returns August 14th. It will take him around 36 hours & 5 flights each direction. We are very excited about it, but we are also sad that he will be gone for so long and that we can't have another summer adventure together like last year. It just didn't seem possible this year with a brand new baby and our first child still under 2... We will miss David VERY much, but we are excited for him to have such a neat experience and to be able to intern with such a good firm. Almaty is down in the South East corner of the country right above Kyrgyzstan.

David

David's sister Becky wrote a really sweet post about David recently and since I mainly blog about Taylor I thought that it would be nice for people to read about David for a change. Here is the link: http://rebeccadayton.blogspot.com/2010/02/only-thing-hes-guilty-of-is-being.html
