Current Situation

I am really behind on blogging - I have a LOT of posts that I need to back-date.  But, I've had lots of questions about what our current situation is, so I decided to finally blog about it.
The last 16 months have been crazy and filled with many unknowns, ups and downs, and lots of prayers!

April 2011: David graduated from BYU and we moved to Colorado for him to take the Bar and intern with the U.S. Air Force Academy in the JAG (lawyer) office.
October 2011: He was accepted (finally!) into the JAG Corps (this is an active duty position) and we decided to move back to Provo to wait for his job to begin.
***Long time of waiting/stress/instability/etc...***
May 2012: We learned that our first assignment will be at Malmstrom AFB in Great Falls, MT!
July 2012: David took the Oath of Office, issued by his cousin Kurt Liechty.
August 2012: David began Commisioned Officer Training (COT) in Montgomery, AL, this will be followed by JaSOC (a training for lawyers in the AF.)
***The kids and I are staying in Utah with my mom while he is in training for 4 months.***
December 2012: David will actually begin working at Malmstrom AFB around Christmas-time.

Anyway, we are incredibly grateful and excited about being accepted into the Air Force JAG Corps, and can't wait to see all of the many places it will take us!

Taking his Oath of Office:
David saying bye to our kids:
His training has an intensely busy schedule, but they do allow them to attend church on Sundays. Our brother-in-law is doing some training at the same base right now, so David has been able to see his sister, Chrissy, and her family there.  She was nice enough to send me a picture:

It must be so hard having him gone right now, but that's so exciting...he's finally in training, and soon you will be in MT!
David in BDU's! Love it! :) PS - Ian did that training while he was in BYU during ROTC, so when he was in Alabama he was doing a different training. No wonder I don't remember him being that busy. ;)

How exciting! Air Force is by far the best branch (my Grandpa and Uncle were/are Air Force pilots). Thanks to both of you for your service.

Love looking over your blog. I am really happy for David...he's a great guy and the JAG Corps is lucky to have in its ranks. I hope I get the chance to work with him again...USAFA misses you! Come back and say hi when you get a chance! -David
