L.O.V.E.

We had a fabulous Valentine's Day/Weekend this year. We got some fun Valentines from Tay's cousins in the mail as well as a cute little dress for baby Kyla - Taylor had fun hugging it and saying, "oooh!" We had a gift certificate for dinner at La Caille, so on Friday night we enjoyed a fabulous $260 dinner & only had to pay the tip. We had so many delicious dishes. They are all served in small portions, but I still couldn't finish it all. Between the two of us we had: delicious breads, smoked duck with cucumbers, crab & shrimp cocktail, french onion soup, crab & avacado & grapefruit salad, wilted spinach salad, Red Snapper with yellow pepper sauce (David's main dish), Filet Mignon with mushrooms (my main dish), some fancy-ish chocolate cake with icecream, & a crepe with ice cream & fresh berries. Our awesome waitress also let us know that we could order virgin specialty drinks, so we had a delicious strawberry daquiri and pina colada. It was such a wonderful and relaxing dinner; however, I just don't think we could ever justify actually paying for a meal like that...but it was fun to have once!
On Saturday, Taylor and I made and decorated sugar cookies. Taylor loves to help cook. He even has an apron that was David's when he was little. David and I also made a hot chocolate run to 7-11 late Saturday night - we used to do that a lot when we were first dating. I love mixing in the cream packets to make it extra creamy & to flavor it...my favorite is Irish Cream. Sooo good but so not healthy.

For Valentine's Day, I made chicken fettucini alfredo, rosemary bread, salad, and fresh fruit for dinner. David gave me a game and one of those tiny pans for making a perfect egg - love it! I made him a T-shirt quilt with a bunch of his old & meaningful but getting worn out shirts. Taylor made his Daddy a Valentine with Reeses in it. He also gave us lots of sweet hugs and kisses. It was a wonderful holiday!

Here is a pic of me @ almost 27 weeks pregnant. This baby is already kicking my ribs out and the heartburn & aching back are definitely in full swing. Luckily the nausea is easing up a bit, although it's not entirely gone yet.

I LOVE the Neil Diamond picture on David's quilt:) That was such a cool thing to do.

Congrats on the girl!!
What a fun Valentine's Day! Good job on the cool quilt you made for your hubby! I can not even believe that you are that far along in your picture...Seriously, you are so lucky and look so good!
You look fantastic. I'm glad the nausea is easing up a bit. Alyssa always kicked me in the ribs and it hurts so bad! Taylor is so cute. I love the little apron.

Heather you are so clever. I'm way impressed with the quilt. The dinner sounds absolutely amazing and quite exotic.

You're also so patient. I try to let the cute Nelson girls "help" me cook and it usually takes about twice as long. Tay is lucky to have a mom who will help/let him cook.

You are so impressive. What a great idea to use his shirts for a quilt! Sounds like you had a great Valentine's Day- it's crazy how expensive good food can be!
Also, I love seeing that cute little apron again, especially on such a cute boy!

Yay for that cute brown apron! That is so sweet, and Taylor looks like he indeed loves being in the kitchen with you. He is getting SO big. Love the quilt, you are tiny, and we miss you all! Thank you for the Valentine!
Finally! A good Valentines day :) It always seems like you guys are unlucky with the whole valentines/anniversary thing. And I'm SOO jealous about the fact that you can just go to 7-11 late at night to get hot chocolate. No chance of doing that here! Oh, and your blanket is really neat-I love that idea! :) Can you guys come out and visit again?? :) :)
