Christmas 2007
This Christmas was so incredibly wonderful! We started out by going to the Las Vegas Bowl on Saturday with my little brother and sister. BYU barely pulled off a 17 to 16 win by blocking a field goal with 3 seconds left in the game - it was so exciting! While we were in Vegas we ate at a buffet and a cafe in The Paris Hotel-gotta love Vegas food. We also helped David's sister Sara and her husband when they realized that the auto shop had not replaced their oil cap when they filled it up, so they had lost all of their oil. We randomly called them to stop for lunch with us in Vegas on their way out to California, and had they not stopped, they wouldn't have known and the engine would have seized up out in the middle of nowhere. So - it was VERY lucky that they stopped and also that we were able to go pick up oil and a new cap for them, it was also lucky that we made it to kick off on time after helping them. :-)
Both of our mothers were in charge of the Christmas programs in their home wards, so we went to two wonderful, music-filled sacrament meetings on Sunday, and then spent the evening with the Dayton family eating, caroling, and talking. We headed up to the Peterson home in South Jordan on Tuesday morning and spent the day wrapping Christmas presents and cooking for our Christmas Eve meal. We had a big ham dinner and then read/acted out the story of Christ's birth from Luke. My dad spent the entire night operating in the emergency room and got back around 8am, so we opened presents and ate a brunch together before he got called back in (poor guy, he was on-call from 7am Christmas Eve until 7am today, and didn't get much of a break the entire time.) But it was very nice to spend the few hours we did have with him all together. We headed up to the Dayton's around 2pm and spent the afternoon with them opening more presents and watching movies/playing games.
Our big presents were money to go towards a trip together from David's mom, a 160GB ipod for David from the Peterson parents, and a wonderful rocking chair I have been wanting that David surprised me with when we got home last night. I was really excited about it because I have really been wanting one ever since we found out that . . .

WE ARE PREGNANT!!!
I am just over 3 months along (13 weeks and 2 days), and my due date is June 30th. The last few weeks my pants have become tight as I am slowly losing my waist line. We were blessed to hear the heartbeat at our appointment on Christmas Eve morning, and we told our families on Christmas Day. We wanted to wait to tell everyone until our baby was far enough along to be past the high risk of miscarriage (the first 12 weeks or so.) We gave our parents cute little bibs that said things like, "I love my grandma/grandpa" My parents both got really excited and my mom started to cry (this is her first grandbaby) - which made the rest of us cry too. David's family was also very excited, especially because his older sister is due in 3 weeks, so we will have the first two little cousins in the Dayton family just 6 months apart! We will be able to find out the gender right around Valentine's Day!

I have been pretty nauseous most of the time (luckily I only throw up periodically - like almost every morning, and sometimes at lunch & at night) and I am always tired. But I don't care - I'm just SOOO happy that we get to have a little baby!!!
We actually got the positive pregnany test on October 23 - the same day that we got back the great news about David's LSAT score!!!
